W1M continues to attract industry talent as it scales Private Wealth team
London, UK – Tuesday 13 October 2026 – W1M Wealth Management Ltd (“W1M” or “the firm”), the wealth and investment management firm for high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals and families, charities, and institutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jay Brar, Rachel Gu and Chris Megahey to its Private Wealth team, as the firm continues to accelerate growth and strengthen its integrated wealth and investment offering.
Jay Brar joins as a Portfolio Manager from LGT Wealth Management, where she spent over five years as an Investment Manager. Reporting to James Harding, she is qualified in both investment and financial planning and brings more than ten years’ experience building and managing personalised portfolios for high-net-worth and affluent clients. Having begun her career at Quilter Cheviot in 2015, she reunites with fellow new recruit Jan Thompson, as well as several other former colleagues who came across as part of the acquisition of Vermeer in April.
Rachel Gu joins as a Wealth Manager, reporting into former colleague Paul Bentley. Following over a decade successfully advising private clients at RBC Brewin Dolphin, most recently as a Wealth Adviser, Rachel will also reunite with Keith Sheehan and Jenny Quan at W1M. Prior to that role, Rachel started her career as a Paraplanner at Jelf Group plc in 2010.
Expansion of the business also continues in Scotland, where Chris Megahey joins as a Wealth Manager, reporting to Graeme Brock. He brings over 23 years of industry experience, most recently at TrinityBridge, having previously worked at Scott-Moncrieff Wealth Management and Close Brothers. Chris will strengthen W1M’s wealth advisory offering in Scotland, helping clients navigate complex financial planning, estate planning, retirement strategies and intergenerational wealth transfer.
Jay, Rachel and Chris are the latest in a series of appointments as W1M continues to strengthen its Private Wealth team. Their arrivals form part of the firm’s ongoing investment in its client proposition, ensuring that the team has the breadth of experience needed to provide tailored investment management and advice as clients’ financial needs evolve.
Nick Hammond, Head of Private Wealth at W1M, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome Jay, Rachel and Chris. The calibre of professionals we continue to attract is a strong endorsement of what we are building at W1M and our position in a competitive wealth management market. Jay’s experience managing personalised portfolios, alongside Rachel’s financial planning expertise and Chris’s extensive wealth advisory proficiency complement the skills already within the team, further strengthening the service we provide to clients and positioning us well for our next phase of growth.”
