Multi-Asset Fund Range - October 2025 Update

11 Nov 2025|5 min read

In this video, Matthew Parkinson, Fund Manager – Multi-Asset, reviews October 2025 performance for W1M's Waverton Multi-Asset Funds.

October was a strong month across the fund range, with returns from 2.9% for the low-risk defensive mandate up to 3.8% for the multi-asset growth fund. All strategies remain in the first quartile since their inception. Global equities led performance, rising 4.8% in the month, with sterling weakness providing a further tailwind. However, the rally was concentrated, with the technology sector alone accounting for over half the gains. AMD was the standout performer, surging 62% following its strategic partnership with OpenAI, while Hitachi and Thermo Fisher also delivered strong returns. Portfolio adjustments included trimming AMD after the rally and adding positions in Shinhan Financial and Smurfit WestRock, funded by sales of Intuit and United Overseas Bank. Looking ahead, we remain modestly overweight equities, supported by improving liquidity and strong US growth, while inflation is expected to normalise and central banks continue modest rate cuts. We remain cautious about speculative activity in AI and a bifurcated US consumer backdrop, but believe the reward for holding risk assets remains attractive, while remaining defensively positioned in Fixed Income and maintaining full hedging weight.
